Abstraction Exercises
This is a picture of a normal cable, but by emphosizing places and bluring different palaces I made it Snake like image.
This image is something like meteo-forecasting ^^ ... but not a human face

The first image is a start. You could up the contrast a bit more since it still resembles coil. Abstration is not about creating imagery, but emphasizing an element within the picture whether it be light and dark, lines, color, shape, etc.
The second image is more abstract than the first because here you are emplasizing shapes and lines that were not easily seen in the original image. Good.
The little white specs in that last image is a bit distracting. I think this has to potential to become an interesting background if I didn't notice the edges of each drill bit so much. Use some feathering to soften the edge for better transitions.
